Blockout Shutters receive CSIRO fire-safety approval for providing protection for windows during a bushfire.
Blockout was issued with a written appraisal and certificate. The appraisal demonstrated the effectiveness of Blockout shutters in providing protection for windows during a bushfire. All shutters in the Blockout range meet the criteria for level 1, 2 and 3 construction. This is an essential requirement when building in a fire prone area. Blockout shutters cover the window framing as well as the glazed area of the window where bushfire protection is required. This, therefore, satisfies the requirement for Level 3 construction for protecting window openings from radiant heat in a high category bushfire as defined in AS 3959 - 1999 'Construction of Buildings in Bushfire - prone Areas'.
