Wood coatings from Mirotone

Australian Embassy Bangkok, Thailand

The Australian Embassy building in Bangkok is an intersection between two cultures - modern Australia and modern Thailand. Architects BVN have captured beautifully the cultural and diplomatic ties between the two countries. The new complex has a curved organic form, that has been inspired by the natural Australian landscape - while the colour of the building reflects the deserts of central Australia, and incorporates traditional Thai brickwork.

Many of the materials used within the embassy were Australian sourced including Australian timber Blackbutt, Spotted Gum and marble from the Pilbara region WA and North Queensland.

Mirotone Thailand provided the surface coatings for the interior of the embassy. MIROTEC WB 8022 Clear Sealer and MIROTEC WB 8060 Clear Topcoat (both Green Star Rated) were used to beautify and protect the Blackbutt and Spotted Gum timber throughout the interior of the embassy.
