Vertical Cable Safety Barrier by Ronstan Adding safety measures for balustrades does not have to take away from the aesthetic of the interior design. A good example of this is the vertical cable safety barrier provided by Ronstan at the University of Tasmania. The four-storey River's Edge is a research, teaching, and learning building completed in 2022. The modern facility featured an atrium that utilises glazing, brickwork, and Tasmanian timber. Parts of level 2 and 3 are open and come with balustrades. To further secure these levels, Ronstan cables line the edges. ACS3 stainless steel vertical cables make up the compliant barrier. From an aesthetic standpoint, the cables help draw the eyes toward the timber lightwells overhead. At the same time, it complements the brick and timber surfaces of the building. Ronstan was able to meet the architectural and engineering requirements for River's Edge.
