Designing for Flexibility and Flow -- W.L. Gore Headquarters

Globally recognised for pioneering waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex fabrics, W.L. Gore sought an equally innovative approach to spatial flexibility within their Belrose, NSW-based workspace. The goal: to enable seamless transitions between a double-teams meeting room and a large-format training area, with the option of combining all areas into an open, town hall-style collaboration space.

Bildspec, through design-builder JDV, delivered a bespoke operable wall solution that responded to this vision for dynamic spatial use. A centre-stacking Konnect Double Glazed Operable Wall was installed to form a transparent, acoustically rated frontage to the teams meeting room -- maintaining openness without compromising on sound control. To complement this, a Series 100 Solid Operable Wall was integrated, featuring custom-designed graphics on a vinyl film, creating visual impact and branding continuity.

Meeting at a specially engineered three-way junction post, these two high-performing systems offer outstanding Rw acoustic ratings. The result is a versatile environment that supports focused work, private meetings, and vibrant group collaboration -- all within a design that's as flexible as it is functional.
