Trend to Colour Anodised Marinas from Universal Anodisers

Colour anodising is a new trend in aluminium marinas according to Sea-Slip Marinas, a national marina supplier.

The result is a marina that not only looks more professional but is also far easier to maintain in top condition.

Colour anodised marinas are being favoured by marina operators appealing to discerning yacht and power boat owners.

One example is a new marina installed for a property developer close to Perth in Western Australia.

Aluminium piles, deck and rails manufactured near Nowra by Sea-Slip Marinas were colour anodised by Universal Anodisers at Wetherill Park, in Sydney's West, before shipping across the continent.

Prior anodising experience indicates that the anodised aluminium components should need no maintenance other than routine regular cleaning.

The anodised surface of the aluminium is not a coating but is integral to the aluminium itself, eliminating the risk of cracking or peeling.

The anodising standard employed is the same as for marine masts and spars, so it also offers long term protection against most forms of corrosion, principally salt.

Metallurgical tests show that Universal Hardcoat anodising is twice as hard as stainless steel and is thus highly resistant to abrasion.

Technical information on the corrosion resistance and hardness of Universal Hardcoat anodising can be seen on the website www.universalanodiers.com.au

Most forms of aluminium architectural products can be given a similar level of protection by specifying Universal Hardcoat anodising.

Aluminium facade systems, awnings, rails, posts, poles, balusters, doors, windows, steps, stairs and decks can all be colour anodised for permanency and zero to negligible downstream maintenance.

Colours include silver, silver grey, stainless grey, slate, charcoal, beige, black, bronzes, and a range of attractive blues and greens.

Four warm timber-tone colours introduced recently allow designers to match or mimic popular structural timber colours in colour anodising.
