Every December, as the end-of-year festivities approach, the city of Voiron changes the lighting of Saint Bruno's Church. This year the city decided to make this modification permanent and modernise the lighting feature. To do so, the contractor, Ingelux, chose a solution using gobo projection that would not require adding any supporting framework to the facades of the building. This was a recommendation of the Architectes des Bâtiments de France as the church has, in fact, been classified as a historical monument since 11 January 2007. This is only achievable using the FLC230-GOBO projectors, which can create a visual footprint without any additional structure on the building itself. In addition, the projected pattern is controlled and constrained so that it does not generate light pollution or emit light towards the sky.

The three entrances to the monument are also highlighted, using ETC130 recessed luminaires and a gobo cut-out that illuminates the vaults above the entrances.

The lighting principle sought by Ingelux is one that accentuates the light on the buttresses in order to highlight the vertical lines. The three entrances to the monument are also highlighted, using ETC130 recessed luminaires and a gobo cut-out that illuminates the vaults above the entrances. The first step in creating the gobos was for Ingelux to specify the desired cut-out. The gobo was then tested by the WE-EF team on site to create a projection of a grid to serve as "cross-hairs" for reference. Taking anamorphic calculations into account (deformation in relation to the optical plane) a 3D sample was produced and given to Ingelux as a preview for confirmation. Once confirmation was received, the glass gobos were generated and fitted in the projectors. Once installed a few final adjustments were made to optimise the clarity of the projections.
