Perth Arena showcases Mirotone Coatings

Perth Arena is an entertainment and sporting arena in the city centre of Perth, Western Australia. It has state of the art acoustics, multi-purpose events rooms, function spaces, corporate hospitality suites, cafes and an underground carpark. Its striking design has won nine awards for design, construction and operation including WA's Best Building.

Mirotone were asked by ARM Architects for a specification for clear coatings, stains and solid polyurethane colours. Working with both Mirotone's Victorian branch and Mirotone's distributor in Western Australia, JH Wilberforce, Mirotone coatings were used on over 27,000 panels of stained finish in the concourses and 4,000 solid polyurethane panels in the main arena.

The stain system comprised of MIROSTAIN 2013 in a stunning blue, black and honeycake, sealed with MIROCAT 3242 Sealer, then topcoated with MIROCAT PC 3220 Matt topcoat.

The solid colour polyurethane system comprised of MIROTHANE PU 5600 Polyurethane Undercoat, topcoated with MIROTHANE PU 5650 Satin Polyurethane Topcoat in True Blue, Sleep & Black.
