What is an Underfence Plinth?

You may have heard the term UFP mentioned on local construction sites - but, you may ask, exactly what are these products and what do they do? Underfence Plinths, otherwise known as UFPs are used primarily with the Good Neighbour Fence (see the image at the very top of the page). The plinth sits underneath the fence and achieves several different aims.

1. helps prevent soil, mulch and garden waste piling up against your fence and eroding the fencing materials.

2. eliminates large gaps from underneath your fence line - which in turn helps prevent rodents or other animals from entering your yard and also stops your pets escaping from under the fence.

3. adds to the aesthetics of your yard by providing a neater finish to your fence.

The UFPs are made from solid concrete - so unlike the metal fence, these are not going to rust or corrode when coming into contact with garden waste and water etc.

Encased within the concrete are two solid steel re-inforcement rods (aka REO's) Outback Sleepers Australia provide two different sizes of UFPs:

1. The Standard UFP
2340 mm long x 200 mm high x 60mm deep

and

2. The UFP Crib
2340 mm long x 100 mm high x 60 mm deep

These very useful products come in three different colours:
Charcoal, plain and sandstone.
