Steel framing has been used to give strength to residential, commercial and institutional buildings in Australia for 3 generations. The National Association of Steel-Framed Housing Inc. (NASH) has been part of that story since 1982.

NASH is focussed on Australian manufacturing and technical service providers and welcomes members including engineers, designers, steel frame fabricators, researchers, trade training organisations, component suppliers and distributors.

NASH works in numerous ways to support the steel framing industry:

• NASH Standards: There are 3 NASH Standards referenced in the NCC covering design criteria, design solutions and bushfire construction. NASH is the author and publisher of these Standards.
• NASH Handbooks: NASH publishes Handbooks and guidance publications to support the correct application of cold formed steel framing.
• NASH Technical Notes: These are specific publications on essential industry topics selected based on need.
• Members' Advisory Notes: These are members-only guidance notes on key topics arising from member feedback.
• Advocacy: NASH represents the industry with national and state/territory regulators to ensure effective consideration of industry viewpoints.
• Technical networking: NASH provides member and technical forums to ensure understanding of essential technical matters throughout the industry.
