It was 1964 when Barry Higgins commenced his roof tiling apprenticeship under his father John and after ten years of tiling in his father's business he was now looking after some of Monier's larger projects. The forthright business sense that was to be shown by Barry enabled him to incorporate his own family business in 1976.

The company enjoys a good reputation within the building and roof tiling industries and now employs directly and indirectly some forty people. The company also has overseen the education of more than fifty apprentices.

Higgins Roofing prides itself in its accessibility, attention to detail and service. Being essentially a family company it offers great access to customers whether they be builders, owner-builders or renovators.

As a director of the company, Barry Higgins makes himself available to customers twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This is primarily achieved on the basis that the company's head office adjoins the Higgins residence.

Over the past six years Barry has played an important role in the development of the CSR Roofing Specialist program having been one of the foundation members of the program. CSR Roofing Specialists are professional roof tilers that perform the installation of Monier and Wunderlich roof tiles in Australia.
