Automated and Manual Louvre Security Windows by Safetyline Jalousie![]() Safetyline Jalousie provides all-weather solution to MGSM, North Ryde MSK Architects were tasked with linking three existing, separate buildings within the School of Management at Macquarie University. Their design featured a combination of covered walkways and stairwells, but the challenge was to keep an open, airy feel whilst enclosing the walkways to ensure they were all-weather. Louvre windows were the perfect solution, providing ventilation and adding to the unique design. A combination of automated and manual louvre windows were used to ensure easy operation, particularly where the louvre windows cannot easily be reached. Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows were chosen because of their superior security and safety features. The impenetrable security system that Safetyline Jalousie louvre window delivers ensured that the walkway is protected from intruders. Inside the walkway, only handrails were required for safety - due to the strength and design of the louvres, there is no risk of anyone falling or climbing out of the windows, thus no balustrading was needed. Aesthetically, Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows were the best choice for the project due to their large maximum width of 1.4 metres. This created more open space visually, because less vertical lines exist between the banks of louvres. Project Specifications
