Fire-Rated MDF Panels with Timber Veneers for Hospitals by Keystone LiningsThe Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH), a 160,000 m2 world-class healthcare facility, showcases outstanding architectural innovation. Designed by Rice Daubney (now part of HDR) and Architectus, the hospital opened in 2016 with 450 inpatient beds and expanded to 738 beds by 2021, providing advanced tertiary healthcare services to the Sunshine Coast region and beyond. Keystone Linings contributed to this landmark project with its Key-Eclipse Group 2 Fire-rated MDF panels, featuring a Timber Veneer finish. These panels, known for their exceptional durability, fire-retardant properties, and striking aesthetic appeal, were integral to the hospital's interior design, creating a welcoming and functional environment for patients and staff. The SCUH has received widespread acclaim, earning awards such as the 2019 Property Council of Australia Innovation & Excellence Awards for Best Public Building and numerous Australian Institute of Architects accolades in 2017. This project exemplifies Keystone Linings' dedication to delivering innovative, sustainable, high-quality solutions that elevate architectural designs.
