Are you also confused about using combustible products on a non-combustible wall? There has been a lot of confusion and disinformation when the 2019 NCC/BCA came into effect. This is in regard to the fire compliance of interior linings that are used in commercial buildings.

There has been some ambiguity when it came to the requirements of non-combustibility materials for external walls for commercial buildings (Type A and Type B) that has two stories or more.

Supawood has been able to procure a Fire Assessment that allows the use of combustible products on non-combustible walls. If an external wall is lined with plasterboard, it is possible to have timber lining fixed over this lining and it will still be compliant, even if it is a combustible product.

However, the timber lining must be certified to a Fire Group number as per AS5637.1. Supawood is able to supply these. If you still need help with using combustible products on a non-combustible wall, just head to www.supawood.com.au.
