| 3D Ceiling Tiles & Aluminium Slats for the CSIRO by SUPAWOOD IA Design define areas in office fitout with 3D tiles & aluminium slats Interesting treatments of SUPAWOOD's dynamic 3D ceiling tiles and aluminium slats have been applied in the refurbishment of CSIRO's Drill Core Lab and Office fitout in Kensington WA. The client's brief involved reconfiguring and revitalising an unfriendly workspace to achieve a light collaborative space that also allowed for privacy. The designers, IA Design, looked for strong finishes and dynamic linings that would reflect the nature of the client's research. The choice of linings also had to comply with stringent BCA regulations. To address acoustics and define an area of the ceiling in a meeting room, perforated SUPATILE 3D create an organic sculptured effect running above the length of the meeting table. The tiles are finished in SUPAFINISH Tasmanian Oak laminate which is low VOC. The timber finish adds warmth to the space. SUPATILE 3D is available in 3 standard panel designs which can either be perforated or left solid and come in a great range of timber laminates and solid colour finishes. These can be mixed to achieve an endless range of configurations. Customised tiles are also available. SUPATILE 3D allows for full accessibility into the ceiling cavity. Another area of this project where SUPAWOOD linings have been used is a staff breakout room. To define a lounge area in the space, SUPASLAT Aluminium slats in profile A3 have been cleverly used on the ceiling. Further interest has been achieved by mixing 3 different SUPAMETAL internal grade powder-coat finishes of Ironstone, Shale Grey and Pearl White. This feature is suspended in a cut-out in the ceiling. SUPASLAT Aluminium is Fire Group 1 and completely moisture resistant. This project illustrates how easy it is to successfully apply SUPAWOOD's more dynamic products to achieve very lively effects and define areas within a space. Photography - Evolve Design.
