This superior performance is due to the remarkable flexibility of our film. So while other films tear, ours merely stretches - keeping the window in the frame even when the glass breaks. And ours is the only 4-mil film that passes the 400 foot-pound impact level of ANSIZ97.1 Standard.*

3M films have been subjected to windstorms, bomb blasts, all kinds of flying objects and a rigorous series of durability tests. We have gone to extreme measures to make sure our films meet or exceed industry standards for impact and tear resistance.

Tests carried out at the University of NSW by the Building Research Centre met Impact Test requirements of Australian Standard 2208 as a Grade A Safety Glazing Material, when impacted on either side of the glass.

3M SCOTCHSHIELD Films however, come with a comprehensive warranty on both film and labour - 12 year (Commercial) and Lifetime (Domestic). This warranty is only available from authorized 3M dealers. Should something happen to your local dealer, 3M will still be there to care for the problem.
