The world's tallest purpose-built student accommodation tower is launched in Brisbane.

Earlier this year, Brisbane Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk, launched Student One's 41-storey tower on Wharf Street, Brisbane. The $120 million, 122-metre high tower is the latest addition to Student One's trilogy of residences, with the Adelaide Street tower launched in mid-2016 and Elizabeth Street tower due to open in January 2019.

The influx of student accommodation facilities not only in Brisbane, but in Australia, highlight the world-class tertiary education status of the country. According to Student One chief executive, Tim Weston, "international education is worth more than $4 billion annually to the Queensland economy, making it the state's second largest services export and in Brisbane, its largest services export."
