NET Zero Homes with ICF's from ZEGO

Insulated concrete form from ZEGO

What does Net ZERO mean for the building industry?

The Green Home revolution is gaining momentum as the world seeks to find solutions for the high demand for energy. It might seem radical now, however, as NET Zero homes gain more support, the technology will spread in the same way as it is spreading in California in the US. Just as the US embraced Silicon Valley and California now leads the nation in environmentally friendly construction, Australia is also moving towards green building as green practices become more main stream.

Home Designers, Architects and Builders are already seeking out new and creative ways to insulate their homes. In short, this means that the demand for highly efficient, green home products is on the rise. The concept of NET Zero construction will open up the market for alternatives like Insulated Concrete Form or ICF's. ICF walls are extremely durable and energy efficient and are the perfect technology for use in NET ZERO homes.

What is a NET Zero home?

Quite simply, a NET Zero home consumes less energy than it produces. By incorporating highly efficient insulation methods, Architects and Designers create self-sustaining homes through the use of sustainable and energy efficient materials that create on site power generation including use of solar passive design.
