Geogrid Subgrade Soil Stabilisation from Polyfabrics![]() Polyfabrics was specified by a Victorian civil construction firm in Epping for the supply of their E'GRID 2020SX - a rigid biaxial geogrid ideal for subgrade reinforcement, rock stabilisation, and erosion control. The project required significant remediation and stabilisation of damaged soil to create the foundation for a future Biodiversity Business Park comprising 30,000 square metres of building area. After decades of use as a quarry, the firm faced several challenges. These included bulk earthworks, filling the existing quarry site, remediation of uncontrolled conditions, plus the reuse of 100,000 cubic metres of contaminated soil. E'GRID 2020SX was employed as a subgrade soil reinforcement for its superior tensile strength and increased shear resistance offering long-term soil stability. It was ultimately an ideal solution due to its reliable load-bearing capacity and reduced stress concentration over the soil. 30,000 square metres of Polyfabrics E'GRID 2020SX geogrid was installed within a short time frame, providing the firm a cost-effective yet long-term solution.
