It's possible to create a unique focal point on your ceiling by customising SUPAWOOD products. A good example of this is the feature ceiling at Macquarie University. The Informal Learning & Teaching building's informal room was installed with SUPAWOOD MAXI beams that were customised and designed to create a striking geometric, hexagonal-like pattern.

The lightweight beams from Supawood featured a Light Task Oak SUPALAMI laminate finish. It was an excellent alternative to heavy solid timber beams as the installer and designer achieved the natural wood aesthetic without having to deal with the challenges of solid timber.

Aside from being lightweight SUPAWOOD MAXI beams also offer the benefit of diffusing sound, which improves the acoustics of the room it is in. This is very helpful for educational spaces.

SUPAWOOD supplied the beams pre-cut and also mitered so as to ensure the beams were met equally and were snug at the joints. For more information about the feature ceiling at Macquarie University by SUPAWOOD, head to www.supawood.com.au.
