Explosion Mitigation Manhole Cover Solution from EJ
This solution is designed to allow for pressure relief during
moderate explosion events in underground structures.
Explosion Mitigation Manhole Solution
Electrical or gas explosions inside
an underground vault can happen
without warning. In these
situations, a standard, unrestrained
manhole cover can become a
dangerous projectile. This unit is
designed to relieve built up
pressure while restraining the cover
during a moderate explosive event
and then return to the seated
position.
The explosion mitigation manhole solution is designed Bottom view
to allow the cover to tilt when there is an underground
explosive event. Shown with anchor bolts.
To open the cover, remove the safety bolt and the anchor
lug doubles as a handle. Optional frame with angled anchor rods available.
