Concrete Pits with Steel Infill Access Covers from ACO

Papakura Railway Station

Kiwirail's recent electrification and refurbishment of Papakura Station, includes the Onehunga and Manukau branch lines.

Designers wanted to minimise the use of non-metallic building elements, where possible, specifically around the subterranean cables providing power to the station's lighting and lift services.

To ensure secure protection and access to these cables, ACO's Polycrete® Pits were selected. Made from durable polymer concrete, these enclosures provide excellent insulation properties. To preserve the visual continuity of the platform's bitumen topping, ACO's Urbanfil steel infill covers were also specified.
