Light Rail Surface Water Drainage from ACO![]() Gold Coast Light Rail Project - QLD
Featured Product: TramDrain 200 with Iron Slotted Grates The Gold Coast Light Rail project, GoldLinQ, is a world class public transport system comprising 16 stations between the Gold Coast University Hospital at Southport and Broadbeach. It is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia. The light rail system is expected to cater for 50,000 to 75,000 passengers a day. Pedestrians, cyclists and commercial vehicles share the spaces around the light rail infrastructure. A major design challenge was to manage the surface water run-off throughout the shared areas. ACO's Technical Services Department submitted a solution to meet the specific requirements of this project. ACO's TramDrain provided the ideal solution as it is designed to remove water from the tram tracks and the surrounding areas. Rubber chutes are attached to the end of the runs to drain the rail groove and provide isolation from stray electrical currents. The purpose built trench drain is installed between the tram rails and can also extend beyond the width of the track. For more product information visit: www.acoaus.com.au/infrastructure
