Stadium Lighting Services from Intralux![]() NIB Stadium Redevelopment - Perth, WA Perth Rectangular Stadium (PRS), commonly known as nib Stadium, is home to two local sports codes, the Western Force and Perth Glory. A $95 million redevelopment of the ground was announced in 2011 and completed in 2013. Wood and Grieve engineers were engaged to design the electrical and lighting services for the project. The project consisted of new fully roofed east and open south stands to bring the capacity of the stadium to 20,500. This included new food and beverage pods, public concourse and other service areas. Lighting design to the east stand and concourse areas was one of the challenges presented by the project. WGE worked with Mondoluce team to develop an unobtrusive solution to illuminate the east grandstand roof whilst complying with relevant standards for safe movement for the general public. The lighting solution needed to be low-glare, so as to not interfere with the game or broadcasting. The Intralux COG T5 fitting was chosen to compliment the lighting design of the grandstand due to its linear profile, suitable IP rating and easy installation of the product. WGE also worked closely with Cox Architects throughout to ensure both aesthetic and safety of lighting was achieved.
