Custom 'Twisted' Solar Shading by Louvreclad

Louvreclad are pleased to see the completion of what will be an iconic commercial development on 29 Burke Road in Alexandria, New South Wales. This large commercial building features custom 'twisted' horizontal perforated aluminium solar shades! Horizontal perforated aluminium ribbons wrap and twist around the north, south, and east elevations. Twisting open to allow for natural light while forming framed outlooks of the surrounding streetscape and adjacent Perry Park.

With floor-to-floor glazing across all 4-levels of this innovative building hub, a well-designed solar shading system that controls direct solar gains while still allowing views out to the CBD was of utmost importance. The intention of this large commercial development was to expand the Green Square community, providing it with around 9,300m² of retail and office space. To bring Cottee Parker JPR's twisted fin facade concept to life, Ausrise Aluminium and Louvreclad collaborated. They prototyped and tested the bespoke design to ensure it was engineered correctly while still maintaining the initial design aesthetic.

Using their Polaris Series® and the expertise of their research & development team, Louvreclad proudly accomplished this innovative louvre solar shade design. Manufacturing and powder-coating was conducted in-house, ensuring they met their tight delivery schedule and giving them the ability to keep Ausrise up to date with their progress.
