Sustainable Sourced Timber Cladding from SGI Architectural

Prodema Cladding Faculty of Law University of Sydney

FJMT, after an international design competition, was commissioned to design this noteworthy development that represented a unique opportunity to transform a key site into a powerful new campus. The Faculty of Law building includes several industry leading green features such as chilled beams, low VOC materials, Prodema (timber sourced from sustainable forests), an on-site rainwater reuse system, and Building Management Controls System fully integrated with all building services.

Prodema was selected due to its low-toxicity, life cycle analysis and zero ozone depletion potential. The natural timber façade also provides visual warmth to the workplace and a point of difference. Since completion the project has received numerous awards including AIA awards from Architecture, Urban Design and Sustainability.
