Preprufe® Waterproofing Proves a Safe Bet At $1bn Sydney Racecourse Redevelopment

Grace Construction Products' Preprufe® waterproofing membrane is providing proven, practical and reliable watertight performance at the $1 billion redevelopment of Harold Park Paceway in Sydney, Australia - which will see the 100 year old racetrack transformed into one of the city's largest housing developments.

Under development by real estate group Mirvac, the 11 hectare site will become a vibrant, new village comprising 1,250 apartments and houses, 38,000m2 of public parkland and 7,800m2 of non-residential space.

To provide a watertight base for the development, a high performance membrane with fully bonded waterproofing, zero water tracking and exceptional concrete protection was required.

Starting on site in 2012, approximately 25,000m2 of Preprufe® waterproofing membrane is set to be applied to prevent water penetration and migration around the development's basement car park and plant areas.

Designed with synthetic adhesive layers, Grace's patented Advanced Bond Technology™ enables concrete to aggressively adhere to Preprufe®, forming a unique intimate seal which prevents any water migration between the waterproofing and the structure, substantially reducing the risk of leaks.

No other system on the market protects a substructure from the harmful effects of water, vapour and gas better than Preprufe®.
