Timbercrete Bricks and Blocks Performs Well In All Areas

Timbercrete is an award-winning, environmentally sensitive building material that is a great option when you are building your home, or even landscaping in your garden. The unique range of bricks, blocks, panels and pavers stand out from other products in the way they perform in many areas.

Timbercrete has a unique density and matrix which helps it to achieve impressive sound qualities and up to six times the thermal insulation of conventional bricks. The durability of the bricks and blocks is fantastic and the load bearing capacity is high however, it still allows you to nail or screw into it like timber. The bricks made by Timbercrete are larger and also lighter which makes construction easier and faster and the product has less accumulative shrinkage and expansion than concrete or clay making them an excellent choice.

Density and Matrix - Timbercrete has a dry density of 900 to 10001 kg/m3. Water is the closest product to this density, followed by timber. Timbercrete's matrix is a patented blend of low density soft woods and a smaller portion of special sands, cement and other non-toxic products which act as binders.

Sound Qualities - Acoustic experts agree that Timbercrete will achieve superior acoustic values in relation to sound absorption and sound transmission resistant qualities. Timbercrete has the abilitiy to absorb and diffuse sound, as well as prevent sound transference.

Load-Bearing Capacity - The load-bearing capacity for Timbercrete is very high. A 200mm thick single standard Timbercrete block supports in excess of 30 tonnes.

Accumulative Shrinkage and Expansion - Timbercrete has less accumulative shrinkage and expansion than clay and concrete bricks due to the extended curing time and a unique method of fixing brick, blocks and panels into the wall.

Ease and Simplicity of Building - Most tradesmen enjoy working with Timbercrete due to it's light weight. Timbercrete bricks and blocks are only at 900kg/m3 which is around two and a half times lighter than traditional concrete or clay products. The ability to nail or screw into Timbercrete bricks without the need for pre-drilling also makes building and decorating a simple task. Unlike other lightweight building products such as aerated concrete, nails and screws stay fixed in Timbercrete.

There are many positives to choosing Timbercrete. You can build your next home with Timbercrete bricks or blocks, or even just a retaining wall. There is a great range of products available so you can find exactly what you need.
