Unitex makes French connection with their new French flavoured building solutions

Just completed, this expansive residence situated in an inner bay side suburb in Melbourne, presented many challenges for developer Rade Vujic principal of Vujic Property Group. Working closely with Unitex for many years on other developments, Vujic needed a number of building solutions to make this dream project a reality.

"The overall look that we were after was that of a typical French Maison. something you would find in the old residential quarters like the Marais in Paris" enthuses Vujic. To complete the French flavour, Vujic looked to the Unitex design team to use their flair and create some custom-made scotia profiles with dentals and dormer windows.

Dormer windows like those used in this project are usually framed into a steeply sloping roof. In this case the curved dormer windows were custom-made by Unitex; installed on-site in one piece; then painted and finished. A quick and cost efficient building solution that gives the architectural style the developer was after.

Another interesting architectural detail on this project is the scotia with dental moulding. Usually delivered on-site in two pieces - the scotia and the dental profile - these mouldings were designed by Unitex; custom-made; and delivered in one piece. This saved Vujic's team, which included Sam Serdar Solid Plasterers, valuable installation time and labour costs.
