Uni-Base Board external cladding from Unitex

David Speechly, part owner of Ballarat Associated Fibrous Plasters (BAP) has been in the building game for over 45 years. He's rendered over just about everything - brick, blocks, FRC sheet. But David says, "There's only one thing to render over - that's Unitex Uni-Base Board. It's the best, as far as expansion and contraction goes."
And David would know.

BAP have recently relocated to a new purpose built facility in Mitchell Park. The showroom and office building that fronts the warehouse has been constructed using, you guessed it, Uni-Base Board over a steel frame.

The experienced Ballarat team regularly recommend Uni-Base Board. It's cheaper than rendered brick, requires no specialist tradespeople to install it, is lightweight and offers an R-value of 2.7 before internal insulation.

So exactly what is Uni-Base Board? It's a lightweight cladding system that uses pre-coated, Mesh reinforced, polystyrene insulation panels as a base for Uni-Base Board Render and a Unitex Applied Finish. It's a construction method that's been used overseas for over 50 years. Uni-Base Board is extremely simple to install, so you can move from frame to lock up very quickly. Best of all, it provides a flat, even surface to help you achieve a smooth rendered finish. According to David, "almost perfectly flat."

No matter where you are, BAP can supply materials or have plasterers and renderers to do the job for you and are always happy to recommend using Unitex. It's certainly worth considering for your next commercial or residential project.
