Insulation innovator, Kingspan Insulation, has released a series of instructional guidance documents to assist building energy assessors in detailing its products correctly in thermal modelling software accredited by the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS).

Kingspan Insulation Technical Manager, Mr. Keith Anderson, who is himself a professionally accredited building energy assessor, says the guidance documents will give energy raters more certainty.

"With so many variables going into a house energy rating, step-by-step guides like these help building energy assessors be sure that the performance of the Kingspan products they specify will be properly reflected in the modelling software," he says.

Mr. Anderson adds that the new minimum 6-Star ratings are driving the industry to find new solutions that are climate-appropriate.

"In many applications conventional insulation products on their own are no longer sufficient or appropriate, and so energy rating professionals are looking to use a range of new solutions and combinations incorporating Kingspan Insulation systems.

"As experts in the field it's important that we provide the industry with tools like these guides to help them use these innovative solutions with confidence."
