Residential Rainwater Harvesting Tanks from Kingspan

Mystery Bay House on the Sapphire Coast of NSW is an off-grid home purpose-designed to operate within its surroundings. The residence was designed by architect, Jack Hawkins, son of homeowners Rob and Sally, who aspired to create a home that pays tribute to the land it was built on. For their onsite water reserve, Kingspan's residential rainwater harvesting tanks were specified.

Kingspan round water tanks are traditional, corrugated steel water tanks. They offer the largest amount of water storage of any shape. These robust tanks feature minimal seams and are a top choice for rooftop reservoir installations. Available in a range of sizes to suit a variety of spaces, Kingspan round water tanks are built with genuine Bluescope AQUAPLATE® Steel with a sturdy internal stainless-steel frame. They are supplied in capacities from 500 up to 29,000 litres.

In the case of the Mystery Bay House, Kingspan supplied six round, made-to-measure water tanks for rainwater harvesting. Together, they totalled 160,000 litres of water storage, of which 30,000 is reserved for firefighting.

Practical, beautiful, and truly sustainable, Mystery Bay House is a finalist in two categories of the 2021 Australian Institute of Architects of NSW awards program and was also featured on Grand Designs Australia.
