Tumbled Noce Travertine for Landscaping from Sareen Stone![]() Project of the Month: Northbridge Oasis Untouched for decades, this 1,650 sq foot steep site in Northridge, Sydney was transformed into a luscious restful oasis by the team at Art in Green. This outdoor area had little usable space, with an unusable sloping lawn and an unfortunate view of the family's carport. The only exception was a small paved area surrounded by a rock retaining wall. Landscape designer Ken Pattinson and his team from Art in Green, redesigned the space with a modern slant, integrating several luxurious levels of Sareen Stone's Tumbled Noce Travertine, water features and soft greenery. The levels take advantage of the whole space, now a restful oasis that allows the owners to enjoy the Sydney sunshine in privacy.
Pattinson and his team met the challenge of the lot's 7-foot height change with several Tumbled Noce Travertine patios, each connected with elegant noce travertine stone stairs. Nick Kennedy of Art in Green designed the stone hardscaping; he used the same tumbled noce travertine on the stair treads, water feature coping and stepping stones. This stunning garden's main water feature, a vertical spill, spans three of the tumbled noce travertine stone patios, linking them. Water is pumped from the lower level to the top level, then pushed over the waterfall at the top. The zoned lighting plan creates depth and entices people into each gathering area. Brushed chrome fixtures beckon visitors up the stairs, across stepping stones and over wooden patios. Light fixtures in water features highlight adjacent surfaces and plant shapes.
The flora featured in this garden was specifically chosen to encompass the "restful" feel and to cohesively connect each area helping disguise the dramatic level changes, making the garden feel more approachable. Plants featured are;
