Sustainable Design with Verosol SilverScreen Blinds at Pancras Square.

At 6 Pancras Square, a premium 11-storey commercial development in London, sustainability was central to the design strategy. With over 31,500 sqm of office space and two expansive roof terraces, the building set out to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating-demanding thoughtful integration of energy performance, daylight control, and occupant well-being.

To meet BREEAM's Health & Wellbeing criteria, the project team focused on minimising glare and solar heat gain while preserving external views from all elevations. These elements were critical not only to environmental certification but also to improving occupant comfort and productivity.

A thermal modelling study identified Verosol's 205 SilverScreen fabric as the optimal solution. The metallised screen with 4% openness offered superior glare control and an effective shading coefficient, earning a BREEAM credit under the Health & Wellbeing category. Its thermal performance also contributed an additional credit related to comfort.
