Low VOC Floor Adhesive Mapecryl Eco from Mapei

Mapecryl Eco
Adhesive in water dispersion with a very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC), for bonding vinyl and fabric floor coverings.
WHERE TO USE
Mapecryl Eco is used for bonding on all types of internal, absorbent substrates used in the building industry, and which are stable in the presence of humidity:
- homogeneous and heterogeneous vinyl floors in sheets or tiles;
- semi-flexible vinyl tiles;
- vinyl floors with a synthetic or natural felt backing;
- latex and foam, synthetic or polypropylene (ActionBac®) jute on non-woven polyester backed carpet;
- latex, foam rubber and normal-backed non-woven fabric.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Mapecryl Eco is an easy-to-spread, acrylic
polymer-based adhesive in water dispersion,
in the form of a beige-coloured paste.
The waiting time for
Mapecryl Eco
is from 0-10
minutes, the pot-life is approximately 30 minutes
(at +23°C) and it has a quick, tough initial bond.
Upon drying (after approximately 24 hours),
Mapecryl Eco
forms a tough, flexible film. Therefore,
it may be used in environments subject to heavy traffic
and is resistant to the passage of wheelchairs.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- Do not use at temperatures lower than +10°C.
- Do not apply the product on humid substrates or on substrates subject to rising damp.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Preparation of the substrate
The substrate must be dry, absorbent, flat, mechanically
strong and free of cracks, dust, flaky parts, paint, wax,
oil, rust, chalk and other substances which may impede
bonding.
Check the humidity through the entire thickness using a
carbide or electric hygrometer, keeping in mind that the
latter type gives only a rough indication of the humidity
level.
The maximum acceptable humidity level must
observe the humidity level prescribed by the relevant
manufacturers, i.e., indicatively a maximum of 2.5-3%
for cementitious substrates and a maximum of 0.5%
for lime or anhydrite-based substrates.
Screeds installed over light-weight concrete or over
insulation layer or screeds laid directly onto earth must
be provided with a vapour barrier to prevent rising damp.
If uneven substrates need to be levelled off,
consolidated or repaired for cracks, please refer to the
Technical Data Sheet for each specific product or call
the MAPEI Technical Advisory Department.
