MiTek Australia is pleased to announce improvements to the Engineered Building Product; the SplitHanger.

The MiTek SplitHanger is a versatile screw fixed hanger that is quick and easy to install, giving improved performance over nailed hanger alternatives whilst providing a strong connection for various solid timber beam widths to supporting beams.

Now, following a technical and manufacturing review, the design of these popular products has been improved.

The redesign has seen the removal of many unrequired nail holes, being replaced with a square and round hole configuration, all fixed with either the MiTek MSA1430 or MSA1465 anti-split self- drilling screws. Round holes are used for nominal capacity fixing, while both a round and square combination is used for high capacity fixing. The bottom return flange of the new SplitHanger has also been shortened to make it easier to fit 35mm members.

MiTek SplitHangers come in 3 sizes - stock codes: SPH140, SPH180 & SPH220. All are now available from your local MiTek licensed fabricator or leading hardware outlets.
