AliEdge® Slimeline55 aluminium doors by Mitchell Laminates

AliEdge® Slimline55 aluminium frame doors was the feature material chosen for this ultra modern entry area. The critical issue, for designer Geoff Little, from Nouvelle, was how to create a truly unique, metallic like glossy look.

Having used gloss painted doors in the past, Geoff was concerned with the slight "rippling" effect, often visible within the painted finish. Unlike painted doors, AliEdge® Slimline55 aluminium frame doors, uses a solid genuine Perspex® insert, which producers the perfect sheen i.e. no more "rippling" effect. In this case a metallic like Perspex® Pearlescent® Platinum colour was chosen.

With long lift up panels as part of the design, functionality became an important consideration. AliEdge® Slimline55™ doors offered significant weight advantages over traditional door alternatives, making such large panels possible.

While less expensive than equivalent painted glass, AliEdge® also offered Geoff, superior impact resistance. Given his clients had children, knowing the AliEdge® Slimline55 aluminium frame doors could take a hell of a whack, was an important, practical, design advantage.
