Decorative Tiles Care and Maintenance from Designer Ceramics

Decorative Tiles by Designer Ceramics are easy to care for. Ceramic tiles do not allow dirt, stains and liquids to seep beyond the surface. However, even the lowest maintenance materials still need to be cleaned and preserved for hygienic purposes and longer product lifespan.

Immediately After Installation
After installation and grouting of the decorative tiles has been completed, caulking ensures that the grout is watertight and protected from any damages that can be caused by water. Caulking can save homeowners maintenance costs for subsurface damage and keep the tiles looking good as new.

For Occasional Maintenance
Decorative Ceramic Tiles are often used in kitchens, bathrooms and dining areas. These sections of the house are prone to hard water deposits, soap scum, mildew stains and food stains. These can be removed by cleaning using mild detergent and rinsing with clean, warm water to eliminate excess residue. For textured tiles, regularly scrubbing the tiles with a mild brush is highly advised.

In case of spillage, do not let the contaminating liquid spread through the grout. Wipe immediately to avoid staining. If there is persistent solid dirt that has dried up and remained stuck on the decorative ceramics, avoid using steel wool, scouring powders or sharp objects that can cause scratches to the material. Using bleach or ammonia-based cleaning materials may cause discoloration to your grout and tiles.
