Perspex Acrylic Car Park Exterior Panels from Mitchell Group

One of Birmingham's landmark commercial and educational centres, the Millennium Point, now benefits from the addition of a strikingly designed and centrally located multi-storey car park, which has won the 'Best New Car Park' at the 2012 British Parking Awards.

The car park was designed by multi-disciplinary agency Acivico, whose brief from Birmingham City Council was to create an innovative building which would meet sustainability and good value criteria as well as provide an innovative design solution worthy of its prime city centre location.

It features a multi-material construction designed and manufactured by Image Technique in Bromsgrove, which includes steel frames holding panels of 12mm thick Perspex® Frost cast acrylic sheet in Arctic Blue.

In total, 113 sheets of 3050 x 2030mm Perspex® Frost sheets were used to create panels which provide a perfect contrast to the concrete and steel construction, creating an interesting design feature to the exterior façade and spreading light throughout the car park.
