Viega Expands its Concealed Cisterns Range in Australia

Viega, one of the leading international manufacturers of installation technology, has expanded its Australian range of concealed cisterns, with the release of an under-counter model - the Eco Plus 2L.
Aesthetics, hygiene, water conservation and easy installation are just some of the technological benefits of the Eco Plus 2L system's design, explains Robert Hardgrove, Viega's Technical Manager / Strategic Projects.
"Viega's precision-engineered concealed cisterns feature integrated steel frames designed for easy fixing with the strength to support wall-hung pans," he says. "Add this to the Eco Plus's 830mm height and it is ideal for under-counter cistern installations. It's a great solution for creative bathroom design."
The focus when designing the Eco Plus cistern was to provide a slim-line, dual-flush cistern that's easy to install and use. Not only that, it has a Wells 4-star dual-flush water-saving cistern based on 3 and 4.5 litre flush - with large flush adjustable to 6 litres. Another key feature is the insulation of the cistern, which is designed to reduce noise and stop condensation as a result of cooler than room temperature water refilling the cistern.
The cisterns have been created with a single piece flush valve, which has the dual benefit of a short travel distance plus less 'force' required to flush the cistern.

"Additionally, if maintenance work is required, it can be removed in one piece, so that no parts can fall into the cistern by mistake," says Robert.
A single piece inspection shaft also ensures the cistern remains sealed. This means no plaster, tile work mortar, water, dust or other contaminants enter the cistern.
Ease of installation is also a major point of difference with the Eco Plus. Fixing the frame to the floor is simple, with adjustable-height legs allowing for screed and tile thickness. The frame can be fixed in front of a wall or between a wall frame with several pre-drilled holes. In addition, the water supply connection comes completely pre-assembled. It means the connection to the feeder pipe is possible from outside, without opening the cistern.
Another of the cistern's features is a translucent rubber washer with higher chlorine resistance specifically developed for the Australian market.
Designer flush plates
The Eco Plus 2L, like all Viega's concealed cisterns, can be combined with the company's extensive range of award-winning flush plate designs that have been specifically designed around short-stroke, low-force activation, and includes push button rocker action, Bowden cable or electronic touchless technology.
It means the cistern components are concealed behind a wide choice of beautifully crafted plates that offer unique design and materials combinations. These include chrome, stainless steel, plastic or glass.
"Regardless of a bathroom's architectural style, Viega has a flush plate that can fit harmoniously into the design of any bathroom," Robert says. "They're designed to match a wide array of ceramics and taps."
