New Tools On Trial At DesignBUILD 2011

For trades and apprentices looking to refine and update their tool collection with minimal downtime and better pricing, the DesignBUILD expo at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is the place to be from Wednesday 11 May - Friday 13 May 2011.

Not only do visitors have the opportunity to win a $1900 Milwaukee Heavy Duty Kit simply by visiting the What Tradies Want Magazine stand, courtesy of Milwaukee, they can also trial the latest tools in the VEK Power Tools Pavilion.

With a booming population and unprecedented housing demand, trades and apprentices are under more pressure than ever before according to DesignBUILD Exhibition Director Danielle Fischer.

"The feedback we are hearing from trades and apprentices is that they need access to the latest tools and information in one place.

"They struggle to get away from the construction site to research and explore new trends and product ideas, which is why we have increased our dedicated trade areas within the show.

"At DesignBUILD trades can see, touch and trial new tools which will save them time and money by helping them get the job done more easily and they will also have access to discounted pricing by leading manufacturers," she said.

Builders who attend DesignBUILD can also enjoy the opportunity to gain two CDP points simply by visiting the Master Builders Association NSW stand.

Presented by VEK Tools in the Power Tools Pavilion:

  • Einhell Universal Mitre Saw - one saw cuts it all including wood, plastic and steel.
  • BMI Quicky - the Quicky is a revolutionary measuring tape that spans two metres and weighs almost nothing, so unlike traditional measuring tapes - it won't pull your pants down. It also has a transparent coating over vivid white making the black numbering really easy to read.
  • Senco's Fusions Fastening tools with pneumatic power and cordless portability plus quick charge - 85% charge in just 15 minutes!
  • FLAI Type U Saw Blade - new cutting design makes this sawblade ideal for cutting softwood, hardwood, veneered plywood and melamine. It doesn't splinter and has a glass like finish with virtually no saw marks.

Presented by RIGID:

  • Micro CD-100 Combustible Gas Detector, designed to quickly detect Methane, Propane, Butane, Ethanol, Ammonia, Hydrogen and many other combustible gases.
  • Micro IR-100 non-contact Infrared Thermometer - squeeze the trigger and point to see simple, quick and accurate surface temperature readings. Easily diagnose heating and ventilation problems and perform preventative monitoring of electrical motors and systems plus much more.
  • Micro LM-100 Laser Distance Metre - completely portable instrument providing accurate distance readings with the push of a button.

For trades who prefer to browse the new products in their own time, Innovation Alley is a must visit with 40 of the latest products available in Australia on show.

DesignBUILD 2011 is also open until 8pm on Thursday 12 May to help busy trades and professionals who struggle to get away from the construction site or drawing board. The expo is co-located with the CEDIA expo, Asia Pacific's largest event for the custom electronic systems industry.

Trade professionals interested in attending can now view the full exhibitor list and new product listings on the DesignBUILD website, while attendance to the expo is free for those who register online prior to the event at www.designbuildexpo.com.au
