Lenzing AG is one of the largest man made cellulose fibre manufacturing companies in the world, producing three generations of fibres: Viscose, Modal and Tencel. The company has developed the new tencel fibre to improve pasty renders and plasters for both inside and outside walls of houses.

In Austria Tencel fibres are starting to replace acrylic and pulp fibres thanks to the following advantages: Tencel fibres can absorb more water than PAC fibres, retaining it longer and releasing it slower, thereby minimizing cracks while drying or curing. They allow greater workability and an easier flow than acrylic or pulp fibres and are 100% natural and sustainable. Last but not least they have a price advantage and are generally cheaper than or in the same price range as poly acrylic fibres.
