JPS Coatings has built an extensive catalogue of solid plastering and rendering solutions, including cementitious base coats, pre-coloured external render finishes, water-based primers and acrylic membranes. In service for 30 years, the Australian-owned and operated company remains the number-one choice for top industry players across the country, as well as overseas commercial sectors.
Formulated as a traditional style render finish, JPS Coatings Coloured Finno is the ideal choice for pre-coloured external render finishes. The blended finish contains premium durable oxide pigments in a dry powder form to be mixed with water and troweled over a sealed render. JPS Coatings Coloured Finno is available in a 20kg bag for a coverage of 10-12m2 per bag. It has a shelf life of six (6) months from the date of manufacture.
How to Apply JPS Coatings Coloured Finno
JPS Coatings Coloured Finno can be applied by a capable individual in four easy steps:
1. Prepare the surface. Ensure the substrate has cured for seven (7) days. It must have a WME (Wood Moisture Equivalent) lower than 12-15%, and free of such contaminations as dirt, dust, oil, grease, release agents or fungal growth. Using a brush, roller or LPHV (Low-Pressure High Volume) spray unit, apply one (1) coat of JPS Coatings Gripcoat, especially for surfaces that are chalky, or prone to dusting. Observe a 10-20mm nap when applying with a roller.
2. Mix the powder. The applicator is highly recommended to use mechanical stirrers for mixing the powder into the water. While the water content and flow of the product should vary slightly for various weather conditions, it is recommended to use 20kg of JPS Coatings Coloured Finno with 4.5-4.8L of water. The applicator must observe close caution not to add too much water, which results in shrinking and cracking. The pot life is approximately 3 hours in ambient conditions.
3. Apply JPS Coatings Coloured Finno. Once applied, the applicator must use a render float to remove any high and low spots. Before drying, finish off with a soft sponge float by gently rubbing in a circular motion off to a sandy finish.
4. Let dry. JPS Coatings Coloured Finno is expected to dry within 24 hours after application. The drying process may take longer, depending on certain site conditions like shaded areas, lower temperatures or high humidity. Being a cement-containing product, JPS Coatings Coloured Finno will achieve maximum physical strength once four (4) weeks have passed.
