Acrylic Render for Cladding from JPS Coatings

Acrylic render for cladding through the application of an Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS) responds to the sustainability standards relevant in today's building and construction industry. EIFS can lower its impact on the overall building life cycle cost because of its relatively small ecological footprint as compared to traditional cladding materials.
JPS Coatings is proud to present Cova-Wall®, a non-load bearing Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS) made with rendered M Grade expanded polystyrene panels. The reinforced lightweight insulated cladding system is designed to use for solid plaster cladding application of external walls.
What are the Features of Cova-Wall® Exterior Insulation Finish Systems?
Long-Term Durability
The longer a solid plaster cladding lasts, the fewer resources are required for the structure's upkeep. The expanded polystyrene in EIFS plays a significant role in its overall durability. Expanded polystyrene sheets have a closed cellular structure which accounts for their high compressive strength and resistance against impact. Hence, protecting the wall substrate against possible structural damages.
The same physical structure of expanded polystyrene makes it resilient against moisture and water infiltration. It can withstand extreme weather conditions and function well even after prolonged exposure to natural elements, once the entire system is complete. Expanded polystyrene is a naturally inert material that does not rot and is resistant to all types of vermin, as well as mould and mildew proliferation.

Energy Efficiency
Exterior Insulation Finish Systems takes energy consumption to whole new level. Aside from its durability, the cladding assembly can provide a continuous insulation - providing warmth in the cold, winter months and remaining cooler during summer.
Lightweight Material
Expanded polystyrene is composed of 98% air, making it a lightweight building and insulation material that is easy to transport, handle and install. Exterior Insulation Finish Systems save on overall cost and installation time.
Reusability
The components of Exterior Insulation Finish Systems can easily be separated and used in different applications. The fibreglass mesh and expanded polystyrene can be used for soil stabilisation or filler.
Cova-Wall® complies with AS 1366.3 (Rigid cellular plastics sheets for thermal insulation). The system is either fixed directly on the wall frame or installed with a 25mm expanded polystyrene battened cavity using 10G Class 3 fasteners. The solid plaster cladding material has five components:
- Expanded polystyrene panels screwed to the substrate or vapour barrier
- The base coat is troweled onto the surface of the expanded polystyrene sheet
- Fibreglass reinforcing mesh is embedded in the base coat
- Finishing coat over the fibreglass mesh
- Texture coating of choice
Unlike conventional Exterior Insulation Finish Systems, JPS Coatings apply the base coat first onto the expanded polystyrene panels instead of the fibreglass mesh. This method ensures maximum durability and structural support by sealing the fibreglass mesh between the base coat and finishing coat.
JPS Coatings manufacture, supply, and install high-performing materials that meet the sustainable design and green building requirements that are growing in prominence among major industry specifiers.
