Sustainable Pinewood Structural Board from Simmonds

Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is the most used structural board for timber framed buildings in many parts of the world (e.g. USA and Europe) having replaced plywood and particleboard in most applications.

SimBoard® is made 100% of fresh pinewood from thinning's of PEFC/FSC® certified sustainable forests. The strands are glued together with formaldehyde-free binders which means SimBoard® can also be used for food packaging.

Savings using SimBoard® are in the floor boards PLUS the floor joists:

If you currently use 25mm particleboard, then you can use 22mm SimBoard®.
If you currently use 22mm particleboard @ 600mm centres, then you can use 18mm SimBoard® @ 600mm centres.
If you currently use 19mm particleboard @ 450mm centres, then you can use 18mm SimBoard® @ 600mm centres.
