A versatile roof coating system protects residential and commercial roofs from premature structural deterioration caused by prolonged exposure to heat and ultraviolet rays. Along with increasing the lifespan of roofs, a roof coating system can also reduce heat energy costs, and improve the UV and waterproofing protection.
With 30 years of knowledge and experience in the Australian building and construction industry, JPS Coatings remains the go-to company for all plastering and rendering services and solutions, including lightweight polystyrene wall cladding. Their new product line, Evolving Elements Professional Roof Coating System, is developed using no less than premium materials to suit all types of project specifications.
Good surface preparation is essential for any type of painting, rendering, and plastering application to ensure surface adhesion. Before commencing with the application of roof coating system, the applicator must make sure to disconnect all guttering from rainwater or stormwater tanks. It must remain disconnected throughout the process until after all coatings have dried and residues have been washed from the guttering to prevent water contamination.
Double check the entire working area. Identify and fix all loose or broken tiles, flashings, penetrations, and timberwork, since these can affect the integrity and performance of the roof coating system. In addition, clean all working spaces and ensure that these are dry and free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, animal droppings, and other substances that can hinder adhesion. Lastly, cover the areas that will not be coated.
Before high-pressure water blasting, apply a coat of Premclean to help remove mosses, lichens, as well as minor oil and dirt deposits from the roof surface. The high-grade product makes the subsequent pressure cleaning faster and effective.
The mould prevention coat, Anti-Mould Plus+, is added right after pressure cleaning and before priming as a preventive measure against the growth and proliferation of moss, lichen, algae, and moulds.
After the roof surface has been cleaned, replace the cement bedding on the capping and re-point by applying one coat (1) coat of Durapoint flexible pointing compound. Durapoint is compatible to use on both new and old roof systems. Once roof pointing is finished, remove any cement dust and debris by washing the working area.
JPS Coatings highly recommends immediate coating on the roof system to prevent dust and bird droppings to build up. Apply one (1) coat of Primecrete to ensure good adhesion of the roof coating system. Primecrete is a quintessential surface sealer that prevents the absorption loss of subsequent finishes.
For top coatings, use Terraglaze Plus+ and Duramembrane clear coating to restore the roof's original look and condition.
It dries to a high quality, semi-gloss clear finish to bring back the vitality of their former colours. Applied in two (2) coats, Terraglaze Plus+ is a waterproof acrylic roof sealant that gives a flexible and highly resilient finish perfectly suited to extreme Australian and Southeast Asian weather conditions.
Specifiers and homeowners can opt for Duramembrame. Alike Terraglaze Plus+, Duramembrame is also responsible for the restoration, rejuvenation, and sealing of old and aged roofs to a new and more modern colour. The 100% acrylic-formulated coating provides a highly durable and flexible finish, which also showcases superior resistance to extreme Australian and Southeast Asian weather conditions.
All Evolving Elements Professional Roof Coatings come with a 10-year warranty provided that instructions based on the manufacturer's specifications have been followed.
